United Way’s Give for Good is a secure online platform that streamlines direct donations of goods to people in need across the Edmonton region.
Each gently used or new item you donate through United Way’s Give for Good platform unlocks $100 from EPCOR to support families in need, up to $10,000. Our goal is to collect 100 items to fully unlock EPCOR’s contribution.
Tips for Success
- Donations of gently used or new items are accepted.
- Ensure all items are clean and in good condition before posting.
- Avoid posting heavy items such as couches, beds, pianos, or oversized furniture (tables, dresser, cabinets, etc.)
- Bundle smaller items like school supplies and hygiene products for greater impact.
Holiday Items
Consider donating new toys for holiday gift drives, holiday decorations, ornaments, gift wrap, and gift bags.
Clothing
Winter coats, jackets, snow pants, hats, gloves, scarves, socks, and underwear (new only) are always needed. Children’s clothing, shoes, and work attire such as dress shirts, pants, and shoes are also in demand.
Household Items
Bedding, including sheets, blankets, and pillows, as well as towels, washcloths, small kitchen appliances (toasters, kettles, blenders), dishes, utensils, cookware, and cleaning supplies like sponges, dish soap, and laundry detergent, can make a significant difference for families.
Hygiene Items (Must be new)
Essential items include shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes, toothpaste, feminine hygiene products, diapers, baby wipes, soap, and body wash.
Baby and Child Items
Baby clothes (newborn to toddler sizes), strollers, car seats (check expiration dates), highchairs, baby gates, educational toys, books, and puzzles are always appreciated by families with young children.
School Supplies
Donations of backpacks, notebooks, binders, pens, pencils, markers, lunch bags, water bottles, calculators, and geometry sets help children succeed in school. (Please bundle smaller items)
Miscellaneous Items
Other thoughtful donations include books for all ages, bikes, helmets, board games, family activities, and pet supplies such as dog and cat food or leashes.

Every item you donate benefits individuals and families through our local social sector partners and is greatly appreciated, but just one item per person unlocks $100 from EPCOR on Giving Tuesday.

The campaign is open for one day only—on Giving Tuesday, from 12:00 AM to 11:59 PM. Make sure to post your items before the deadline!
Each item posted through the Give for Good platform during the campaign automatically counts toward EPCOR’s matching contribution. You can track progress on the campaign page.
