What is Give for Good?

Give for Good, an initiative by United Way of the Alberta Capital Region, is an online giving platform aimed at facilitating direct giving between givers and people in need through our social impact partners, ensuring a safe and secure donation process.

Each donation, whether it’s clothing, furniture, or household goods, has the power to transform lives, and every item carries a story of generosity, compassion, and the belief in the inherent goodness of humanity. Together, through our collective acts of giving, we create a system of support that uplifts and strengthens the fabric of our communities.

Why was Give for Good developed?

United Way’s Give for Good was built to streamline the giving process, making it easier for agencies to communicate their needs and for the community to respond efficiently.

By providing a centralized platform, we look to strengthen the community’s ability to support our neigbours in need, empowering both agencies and givers to create meaningful, long-term change for everyone in the Edmonton area, ensuring no one is left behind.

Where is Give for Good currently available in?

United Way’s Give for Good is currently only available to everyone in the Edmonton region, including Edmonton, Fort Saskatchewan, Sherwood Park, Strathcona County, St. Albert, Leduc, Leduc County, Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, and Parkland County.

Are improvements being made or is this it?

Short answer: Yes, improvements and tweaks will be made over time.

To ensure the best possible giving experience, both for the giver and agency, we’re always going to be looking for ways to enhance the look and feel of the Give for Good platform. But we can’t do it alone. If you see something that could be improved reach out to us.
